Ok, so maybe "Timmbit Nation" was a little over-the-top...
But you know how much I love my hyperbole!
This week I have an incredibly
nerve-wracking exciting announcement for you guys and gals.
I haven't been this
nervous excited since I stepped on the speaking stage for the very first time.
Well, if I'm being honest, I haven't been this
nervous excited since the last time I stepped on the speaking stage, but I think the healthy does of cortisol that comes with nerves means you actually care about what you're doing.
If you get nervous, something actually matters to you.
Well, kids, I tell you what... if nervousness is a sign of meaningfulness, then this might be the most meaningful email you get all week!
That's because I'm announcing an AWESOME addition to Timmbits on the blog today.
This will be a brand new forum for us to stay connected, and more importantly, for you to get even more amazing tips and tricks to transform your life at your fingertips.
Today, I'd like to announce to you that I will be launching...
Yours truly will be coming straight from the computer/iPod/Android/iPad/infinityandbeyond right into your ears!
For so long, so many of you have talked about the blog and how much you love the conversational tone of the writing.
It's like you're talking to me, you've said.
It's like you're right there in the room with me, you've exclaimed.
It's like I can hear the story coming right out of your mouth, you've cried.
Well... guess what...
Now that will actually be true!
Except for being right there in the room for you... that would be creepy. Not to mention, completely impossible unless you're Santa.
Every week, I'll be delivering 3 different kinds of podcasts on this one incredible platform-- new episodes will be published on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with show notes being posted on the blog Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays after the podcast launch.
The launch date is in early November, so be on the lookout for specific dates as we get closer to Christmas!
In the meantime, to get you excited about the kinds of tips and tricks we'll be sharing to transform your life, I wanted to reintroduce you to my lovely friend, Jenn.
Jenn has written for the blog in the past (Zen with Jenn) and has been a long time friend and confidante of mine. Only recently have Jenn and I started working in a more professional capacity.
You see, Jenn had expressed some unhappiness with her job...
Well, you know what... I'll just let her tell you the rest.
For 5 years I had felt unfulfilled in my job.
I was frustrated that I didn't feel that I was any good at what I did, and I didn't know what to do about it. I didn't really know what I WAS good at, in order to begin to make a change.
So, while grumbling through my work in order to pay the bills, I tested the waters of a few different ideas.
Do I want to try to find something different in my field?
Do I want to go back to school?
Do I want to try to make a career out of my hobby?
I was going crazy trying to figure out what to do with myself-- nothing felt like it was the right fit.
Then I took the Predictive Index and started working with Tracy, and I felt like I was given a guidebook to myself.
A personalized "How To for Jennifer."
Nothing about the results was surprising. In fact, I laughed at how accurate the information felt!
But all of a sudden, I saw my personality in a very different way.
So many characteristics of mine that I saw as negative were now viewed as strengths. What I thought were personality traits that I had to overcome or suppress in order to be successful were now exactly what would give me that success. As long as I put myself in the situation that allowed me to use my strengths, I would succeed!
This is where Tracy really helped me.
She analyzed my results and walked me through the type of work environment that would be ideal for me.
I am a team player-- someone who puts more value into the harmony of the group than perhaps the work itself. I am patient, a good listener, and to be honest, not the biggest go-getter out there. I'm the glue that holds the team together.
So a traditional sales job (which was a career I was considering), was NOT for me!
Instead, I pursued an Account Manager position, at the same company, and I'm so happy I did!
THIS is the environment where I thrive: nurturing relationships, following an established procedure, helping support a team. I know I will be so much more fulfilled and therefore successful in this environment, thanks to this. I feel that I know myself so much better now, and realize that the best thing I can do for myself is to be myself.
I highly recommend this to everyone, especially if you feel that you are not thriving where you are right now.
As you can see, there will be even more I can share with you on the podcast.
We'll have tips and tricks to transform your life. We'll have peer interviews with people just like you going through career transitions or trying to chase their dreams. We'll have mentor interviews with individuals who are at the top of their game in the hopes that they can illuminate our paths and inspire us to take a meaningful shot for the stars.
What more could you ask for?!
(PS, if you actually have an answer to that question, I want to hear from you! Write me an email or leave a comment below to let me know how this podcast can best be of service to you.)
I can't wait to share even more with you soon!
Thanks for being with me for this exciting announcement. More to come very, very soon!
